#mmmay18 Week 1 in Review

You know that feeling when you make something really cute so you want to wear it right away? I did that this week which broke my pledge addendum of not wearing repeats because my latest make was too cute not to!

But we’ll get there in a minute. First let’s talk about the crazy weather.

It’s a good thing I have a multi-seasonal handmade wardrobe because this week the weather changed dramatically from needing the heater on to switching to AC. So here’s how that went:

Tuesday I had to go into my office so I paired my floral One Hour Top hack from #OWOP17 with RTW black cigarette pants. I feel very much like Audrey Hepburn in those pants!

Wednesday I worked from home and it was still cold and rainy so I snuggled on the couch in my red T-neck and lounge pants. They were basically made for this very reason. And it was a double me made day!

Thursday was another work from home day so that meant RTW yoga pants! With that I paired a striped top I had made a long time ago (July 2016) but had really messed up on the neckband. I pulled the band off and realized the entire neck had already been folded over once so it was finished! And it’s a really cozy and soft, either rayon, bamboo, or cotton Lycra so it’s a winner. I even finished up a second one earlier this week in the same exact fabric. That one has more of a v-neck though.

Friday I had to leave the house so I dressed the part. It was my mom’s birthday so we lunched and had our nails done. I had also just finished a hack on the Rivermont peplum top. This was the super cute piece I couldn’t wait to wear.

Saturday was filming day which always requires 3 outfit changes, one for each episode. So I wore my Drop Top, the other striped tee, and once again, the sleeveless Rivermont. All with shorts because it was suddenly 90 degrees. Crazy!

Can you tell I’ve had successively more beers in each still shot?

It’s going to be a hot Sunday today, too. Last summer I made the McCall’s 7591 dress in a textural striped red knit that also has a mottled tie-dye feel to it. It’s not perfect and the result of the surplice front keyhole bodice is absolutely indecent, even if I am just staying at home with my new husband! So after a few mimosas on our balcony, I’m attempting to handsew a little snap into place.

We’ll see how that goes.

Here’s to one week down and a few more to go! How did your first week of #mmmay18 fare?
