I’m back for Sunday Lately 2019 Week 3! Yes, I skipped week 2. I don’t plan to participate every week, but I gave myself a day off from posting this week, so this is kind of my fun attempt at penance.

Weight! This has been awesome. I might talk about non-scale victories soon in my next installment of Accepting Yourself Naked, but for now, I’m just happy to see the numbers on the scale go down.
Especially while the numbers on my deadlift keep going up!
I can’t see or hear the word “pairing” without thinking of beer. Beer and food. There is both a science and an art to this, neither of which I have formal training in. But after a year spent tasting and testing different beers, I have an overall idea of what goes well together. Bitter beers are great with fatty foods, for example. The fat cuts through the bitterness.
Pizza makes it much easier for me to drink an IPA!
So when we made super fast tequila lime shrimp over roasted spaghetti squash last night, I knew the salty beer we had from our travels to Canada would be a great pairing. The gose beer had the addition of black limes, for a tart citrus flavor on top of the salty character of the beer.
There’s a surprise around literally every corner as we explore our new neighborhood. I really loved seeing this in a neighbor’s window. And being surrounded by diversity in all its beautiful colors.
