Bonjour makers! Welcome to the list of September 2019 maker challenges.
The continually updated master list of all the maker challenges is always up in the menu bar. But if you want the list for just September 2019 maker challenges, here you go! This also includes challenges that are ongoing (recently updated!!) and those ending this month that may have started earlier in the year.
This month I came across a challenge for doodlers and artists in the drawing medium: The Sketchbook Project. Scroll down for more info.
#12patternsplus2019: a monthly challenge to sew the same pattern as the rest of the community and reveal the garments on the same day. Join the Facebook group for more info. September’s patterns are the Rhapsody Blouse and Laundry Day Tee from Love Notions.
52 Week Sewing Challenge: a Facebook-only challenge with weekly themes. September’s are:
- Sew A Zipper

#SewEveryDaySeptember: a daily prompt-based challenge from @sewisfaction “designed to encourage, inspire and motivate you to get sewing or do something sewing related every day.” Runs through September 30th.
#SewMyStyle2019: each month brings a new theme and potential sponsor prizes. September’s theme is blouses featuring the Hey June Handmade Phoenix and Love Notions Rhapsody! Join the Facebook group for more info.
#Sewtember2019: celebrate National Sewing Month with @akramsideas and a group of vloggers hosting sewalongs for free patterns on their YouTube channels. Share your makes from the featured patterns for a chance to win prizes throughout September.

#LetsDiscuss2019: for the book bloggers, to engage in lively debates all year long
#MakeNine: a low-key year-long prompt to encourage the making of garments (sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc), using either this or #2019MakeNine. Join anytime.
#MySewingStartedHere: join @sewcialists and show Instagram where your sewing started. No one starts an expert!
#PoseLikeTheModel: born out of @annachristinasews feelings “about how ridiculous it is that I can’t find patterns with a realistic variety of models,” this draws attention to the very real lack of diversity on pattern models in terms of size, age, and skin color.
#SewBreastFeeding: for showing off breastfeeding-friendly outfits.
#SewingInRealLife: created by @workroomsocial as a way to show sewing in real life instead of the “beautifully manicured Instagrammer.” Join in anytime!
#UseNine2019: another year-long prompt to encourage you to use up 9 stash fabrics. Join anytime.
